Practice Media Film.

This is a short project films we made for our media studies for the theory Propp's roles of characters.

The Effects Theory.

The idea is that ideas from the media, that what the media wants you to think is injected into you, such as the metaphor the 'The hypodermic needle.'
It owes much to the supposed power of the mass media - in particular film - to inject their audiences with ideas and meanings.

Such was thinking behind the nazi propaganda in films, like 'Triumph of the will.' and other films.

Essentially, the audiences can be effected by programs, that are either to sexually explicit, violent or offensive.

Long shot.

This shot is used to introduce character, what their surroundings are (in this case a messy bedroom...) and you get a view of the whole character top to bottom, so you can really establish their appearance, aswell as their general emotions, body language and position.

Two Person Shot.

This shot incorporates two people, showing relationships, friendship, if the main character has a companion, and often how strong said main character is, if they require a sidekick in every shot or not.

They are very common in Rom-Coms and films where the story usually follows two people, as opposed to a film about a castaway or something...

Low Angled Shot.

This shot is used to show superiority, as apposed to the last one. It's looking up on someone, showing power and dominance, as opposed to showing submission.

Basically, it makes the character look important. It is used allot in superhero movies, where the main character is doing a dramatic pose in which he is about save the day.

High Angled Shot.

This shot is used to show inferiority, the camera looking down on the character to make them look weaker and smaller.

In film, this can be used to show the victim, or the scene from somone elses viewpoint, someone that's not on camera.
